K-Pop

Edit: I’m afraid that your 2020 music taste is the true frightening revelation, past-self.

Yesterday, I had a frightening revelation. I actually liked a K-Pop song. You see, I have passionately hated K-Pop ever since BTS was played on repeat by my friends. However, recently, one of my friends who usually only listens to Broadway music (which I also can’t stand) was converted to yet another BTS fan…she wouldn’t admit it though. I happen to follow her on Spotify and yesterday, I checked out her playlists and found ‘This is BTS’ and ‘This is Exo’ in her top two playlists…yeah, friend, you totally don’t like K-Pop. I had obviously heard of BTS, but just to consolidate my belief that my friend has terrible taste in music, I listened to a couple of EXO songs, which, unfortunately, I happened to like. This was a frankly terrifying moment after hours of BTS blasting the study area and making my ears bleed. Anyway, the two songs that I happened to like were Call Me Baby and Monster. Then I tried K-Indie because, why not? Unfortunately, I also liked that too. I have been converted. My last-week-self would shake her head in disappointment.
