Bambi

your crimson fireworks

ignite in echoic chambers,

kindled by your cheshire smile

and married with the stroke

of your perfectly painted nails

down the seams of my arteries.

Bambi the glinting edge sparkles

like your canines in that scarlet light

—sharp, hungry, vicious, full,

flesh, bone, aorta.

Bambi baby with your baby blue eyes

you hide bullets in your innocent fists

and a noose in every tress

of your inky stygian mane.

oh Bambi I’m bleeding Bambi

I’m the milk and you’re my vinegar;

we’re the harlequin marble tiles upon which it will soon

spill.

Bambi, dear

you’ve the voice of a saint

and the soul of a sinner

and a cigarette is placed

in the crevice between your fingers.

why Bambi, by the tar that ran so thick in my saliva,

ran thick into my blood

and lives on thick in a cadaver,

I might’ve known, Bambi darling,

I might’ve known Bambi Bambi

Should’ve known Bambi

Why Bambi did you Bambi

bambi.

(Ulysses moment? maybe… Sorry Mr James Joyce, especially since the rhythm of this whole poem is pretty off)

This was inspired by the mv of Baekhyun’s ‘Bambi’. I am not usually a particular fan of Baekhyun’s music but I just felt some poetry coming from this one!
